    A Person Died Due To Accident In Zirakpur & No one Came For Help

    City Beautiful witnessed the shame full act that told the story of the loss of humanity in people who only see the incidents but do not take any action even after someone is dying in front of them. The biggest things that make us different to the animals is moral obligations and we feel compassion and pain when we see someone hurt. But now people are losing humanity and it means that they are going back to the level of animals.

    A youth, hit by a vehicle, bled to death on the road along Hotel Sapphire in Zirakpur on Wednesday night but no one was there to help that dying person. Even the 108 ambulance that is for the help of people refused to take the injured person to hospital and Police came there so late even after so many calls.

    How Could Anyone Declared Dead Without Checking:

    The victim Azad Singh, was a resident of Sector 38B in Chandigarh. He was on his way to Zirakpur to finish a chore. An unidentified vehicle hit him and many eyewitnesses told that he had the serious head injury. But when an ambulance was called to seek help then they said If a road mishap victim is injured, we take him/her to the hospital, but if a person is dead, we can’t pick up the body. In that case, we inform the police and leave. This is very shameful and how anyone could be declared dead without checking.

    Police Reached The Spot Late:

    The accident took place around 11.30 pm and it took the police 40 minutes to reach the spot. Several calls were made to the police, but they chose to leave the victim to his fate. The police, on reaching the spot, exhibited the same insensitivity. They refused to take the victim to hospital, saying the ambulance would do it. After some time, the policemen took the victim in their official vehicle. What left one shocked was the way they were hesitating to touch the victim. They wanted to put him into a tempo, but angry people did not let them do so. A Chandigarh-based doctor said had the victim got timely medical intervention, he wouldn’t have died. The Hospital was only 800 meter far from the spot of the accident. after that he got so late to reach there and died.

    Chandigarh has the only one shooting arena that needed some upgradations and it was getting delayed for many years. But now, the city’s only shooting arena the Patiala-ki-Rao will get upgradations and will have the 300 m shooting range and completed by the end of this year. For this work to done Administration geared up and full-fledged work is going on at the 300m range.

    A New 300 Meter Shooting Range In Chandigarh By 2017 End

    These new upgradations will help to those shooters who are getting training outside the city and they can take the training in their own city because of the addition of 300m range in shooting arena the Patiala-ki-Rao by the end of this year. In 2013, the then Governer Mr Shivraj V.Patil had announced that it will be added in this shooting arena but its construction was not done. Now full-fledged work has started on it.

    300m Shooting Range Upgradation in Patiala-ki-Rao

    This up gradation will help the budding shooters from the region to hone their skills in their own city because earlier they have to go to the Shooting Range in Kadarpur, Gurugram. Patiala-ki-Rao is the only shooting range of the city and it is situated in the sector 25. Around 3.16 crore was spent on the establishment of this shooting range and it was completed in 2013. But the government is working to make it hi-tech and modern and this will help budding shooters in getting good training here.

    Shooting Range in Chandigarh Details

    This would be the first 300m range in the region and second in North India – after the 300m range at CRPF Shooting Range in Kadarpur, Gurugram. The work on the wall is almost done and the process of allocating the tender for further placement of waffles is underway. This will help shooters in many ways:

    • It would be a boost for CRPF, BSF, ITBP and Army personnel – who can now train here rather than going to Gurugram
    • It will provide the critical training to the Police Personnel
    • Give training to budding shooters to make them equipped to handle weapons
    • They will handle advanced weapons there

    Once the waffles are in place, weapon simulators will be installed in the 300m Shooting Range In Chandigarh which helps shooter in making practice easier and this will also reduce practices cost. All the efforts will be made to develop and equip this range with all the latest and modern facilities to make it one of the best shooting range in the region.     Chandigarh Administration has planned to control the pollution by introducing Electric Buses under the smart city project. Residents will soon travel in Electric Bus In Chandigarh as the first bus has arrived here today in Chandigarh. Before placing the order for the electric buses, the Transport  Department had asked companies to ply the bus in the city on a trial basis and Tata Motors had agreed to ply a bus in the city on a trial basis. These trials will tell the effectiveness of these buses.

    Chandigarh Got First Electric Bus & Know More About It

    What Feature This Bus Will Include

    Electric buses are very much successful on the roads of abroad and now the trial is going in our country in different cities like New-Delhi, Bengaluru, and Pune. These buses have different features that we are going to share.

    • These electric buses will cover estimated distance of around 150 km to 180 km with one-time charging.
    • CTU that will convert its existing depot into clean fuel depot for these buses and all the charging arrangements would be done there. Other facilities would also be provided there for these buses.
    • According to the officials, these buses are totally safer than other buses because these are zero emission vehicle.
    • All the facilities including AC, public address system, CCTV camera and firefighting equipment everything will be available in theses buses.
    • Seating capacity: 26 people can seat and around 9 passengers can stand inside it. It is also favorable for differently abled persons.
    • These buses operational cost is lower than the cost of other buses

    The interesting thing about these news electric buses is that the operational cost of the bus was much lower than the usual bus. Different manufacturers have been approached by CTU and these companies have been asked to submit their proposals regarding this project. For this project, the center is providing subsidy under its flagship FAME India (faster adoption and manufacturing of hybrid and electric vehicles in India) scheme.     According to the Anuj Saini, son of Nek Chand his father made many dolls from the unused clothes that he collected from the tailors and these dolls would be displayed in this Rag Dolls Village. This village will show the glimpse of rural life and make it more attractive for all the tourists.

    New Things That Would Be Included:

    Rock Garden is a world famous tourist place. A large number of internationals tourists visits the garden every day. Two new projects will be a tribute to the legendary, Nek Chand, whose second death anniversary is on June 12.

    • Bullock carts, wells and other features of the villages will be displayed in the rock garden soon that will make it more attractive.
    • The Museum is going to establish in the Rock garden.
    • Musem will display personal collections of Nek Chand that will include his awards that he received in his lifetime and his bicycle on which he collected all the waste material to make a Rock Garden.
    • There is also plan to open a new exit route for the visitors.

    In our life, we make many friends but there are rare people who stand by the side of their friends at their tough time. But today we are going to share a story of young Chandigarh girl who is selling her poems at the cost of Rs. 200-500 for her friend who is suffering from the Leukemia. Anam 21-year-old boy, BSc student at DAV College, Chandigarh, needs bone-marrow transplant according to the Christian Medical College and Hospital in Ludhiana. His parents only raised around Rs. 3.6 lakh, but for the bone marrow transplant, they need around Rs 25-30 lakh that is a large amount for the person who is working in private firm.

    But Amy Singh who is poet wants to use her poems for the collection of an amount that can help her Anam Narula. She is writing poems day and night for Anam who is suffering from Leukemia.

    Amy’s Poems Would Be His Life Saviour

    According to Amy, she wanted to do something for her friend but she was not getting the way. She did not have enough savings then she thought that if she would write poems and charge money then she can help her friend. She had lost her mother because of cancer and this is the reason she really wants to help Anam in this battle.

    Amy Singh decided to seek help on Facebook and posted: “Anam is a beautiful human and a poet. A lot of us would have heard him recite his poems in many open mics. Anam is diagnosed with cancer and of course, it’s sad beyond telling, for me to break this news… It is possible for us to help him! I lost my mom to cancer and I know how this battle is.” She asked people to get in touch with her: “I’m quite helpless on my own.”

    After reading this message many people came forward to help her like some renowned poets and Crowdfunding website Milaap have joined her for this noble cause.

    Amount She Generated Till Now:

    when she started this campaign she was not sure that she will be able to raise enough amount to help Anam and she was thinking that collection would be only 10,000 to 15,000. But she is surprised that this campaign reached to many generous people and till now she is able to generate around Rs 14 lakh for the surgery of Anam and hoping that soon she will collect all the rest amount. She is going to start “Run Of Hope” campaign and she believes that she will surely raise rest of the funds. Anam and his family are very happy and thankful for Amy’s initiative. We hope that Anam will get well soon.

But people have to face these light cuts and they are spending their nights without sleep. After a long day hard work, they want to relax in their home at night but they can’t do this because of this electricity and all the credit goes to Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) Mohali. They kept residents awake during the intervening night of Sunday and Monday. Residents suffered power failure for over 12 hours.

    Residents are facing these problems and they are irritated. They complained that power failed for 10-12 hours in parts of Mohali. According to Superintending Engineer (SE) H S Oberai said, “There are no scheduled power cuts in Mohali as Punjab is now a power surplus state, then why people are facing problems related to electricity. The electricity department employees failed to give relief to the residents from these power failure. Areas that affected by power failure were

    • Phase 3B1-II,
    • Sohana village,
    • Kumbran,
    • Sector 70, 73, and 88.

    This is happening because of the technical problems in transformers in peak summer days and power failure occurred due to a power overload. But electricity maintenance staff is not prepared and that’s the reason people are facing such problems. This should be improved soon.

    Aslam mechanic of Pinjore has died on May 31 and after his death, 200 villagers from Saketri laid siege to the police station on Monday. The villagers blame that it was not the accident and he died because of the negligence of constable on the duty. After this Mansa Devi police have booked a constable for causing death due to negligence. Aslam died at Post-Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) in Chandigarh on Sunday late night.

    Victim Was Intercepted At A Naka:

    Balkar Singh who was on duty on the day of the accident said that he stopped him because Aslam was driving a bike without the helmet and then he stopped them at the Naka. Police added that the driver Aslam was also drunk and was speeding that was the reason police stopped him but he was drunk and lost his balance. After this, he struck his head on the road. But victim’s brother said that he was not drunk and because of the cop he lost the balance and died. He also added that this is the Muslim month and Ramzan and we do not have booze in this month.

    Case Has Booked Against Cop:

    Aslam’s friend who was also with him said that they fell because of the constable because he caught the handle and did not allow us to stop properly. After this, we lost our balance and Aslam died and he broke his leg. After this Police took Aslam to Government Medical Hospital in Sector 32, Chandigarh, from where he was shifted to the PGIMER. Assistant commissioner of police Munish Sehgal, said, “There are grey areas in the case. Action will be taken, if cops are at fault.” Mansa Devi SHO Suraj Chawla said the cop had been booked under Section 304-A (death due to negligence) on a complaint.

    It is surprising but true that Prince Mehra who love birds and wanted to serve them. So he thought of a social service 7 years ago and started “first bird ambulance of the country” for those birds who are speechless, and not able to express their pain. For many years he served these speechless creatures without others help but when others came to know about his work one national bank tried to donate one van to him.

    But Mr. Prince believes in to keep the environment clean from any type of pollution he refused it. But Now he has an E-Bike with the help of this he will save birds in future.

    What Motivated Him To Start This Service 

    Mehra, a signboard painter, started the ambulance service to provide medical care to injured birds and also to dispose of carcasses of birds found dead on the roadside in 2011. He receives motivation to start this service from the incident that happened in Ferozpur. He says in 2011, during a visit to Ferozpur, he saw a sweeper throwing the carcasses of two pigeons, which had died due to a short circuit,  into the dustbin. He took out both carcasses and buried these in a nearby pit. After this incident, he decided to start this campaign in the City Beautiful to ask residents to be more sensitive to birds. To popularize his mission, he moves around the city on his modified bicycle, which has a hand-made medicine box and his contact number on it. Now he got e-bike and now he will provide his services in this.

    How He Provide Treatment To Birds:

    According to Prince till now he has disposed around carcasses of 552 birds in the city and also treated many birds. He said last year he got a job in animal husbandry department because of Chandigarh Administration and this is very helpful for him to serve birds. He added that if birds are not seriously injured then he treat them in his home otherwise he provide them treatment in Department hospital. He also distributes earthen pots to the residents and requests them to fill them with water every day for birds. Now residents also inform him about injured bird. However, this bird lover does not solely depend on these calls, but himself moves around the city on his bicycle to find out if any bird is lying injured on the road so that he can provide medication.

    For his good work, he has got his name in Limca Book of Records, India Book Of Records, Unique Book Of Records, and also Chandigarh Administration has given him state award. We will give him all the best for his work in future and also salute him because he is helping those creatures who can not express their pain.
