But now it is clear after confirming it from Patanjali Ayurveda limited. The owner of Postik restaurant is Colonel (Retd) Alok Sharma and he also confirmed that it is his restaurant and not owned by Baba Ramdev. He also added that they are only using Patanjali’s products. People got confused because of their décor because they are using Baba Ramdev photos.

So they proposed a new law to control such cases and protect the residents from snatchers. Its new draft on law includes that Chandigarh chain snatchers will get rigorous imprisonment up to 10 years. In 2015 and 2016 around 160 incidents of snatching were reported and only 73 cases have been registered.     What would be included in the amendment:

    • UT also want to amend the law for theft and also want it to be stricter because these cases are increasing.
    • According to the new law person who committed snatching will be jailed for not less than five years. The imprisonment may extend up to 10 years.
    • They also include fine with the imprisonment of Rs 10,000 fine as a punishment to teach a lesson to such people.
    • According to the police, no lenient law can stop these snatchers and that’s the reason administration with police going to amend the previous laws against snatching.

    UT will replicate Punjab Law:

    In 2010, the Punjab cabinet had amended section 379 of the Indian Penal Code that is related to theft and then they insert subsections in it and subsections are 379-A and 379-B. After Punjab, the nearby state Haryana had made the amendment to make law on snatching stricter. Now UT took the step toward it and the Administration has already sent the proposal to the union ministry of home affairs for approval. According to the amended provisions, this crime will be included in the crimes which are cognisable, punishable or non-bailable and can be tried in the district and sessions court.

    The social welfare department of Panjab University and Voluntary Health Service, Chennai, on Saturday, organized a Transgender event in Chandigarh jointly by Sakhsham. In this event, Kajal Mangalmukhi, president of  Sakshama– an NGO for transgenders in Chandigarh said that why after the SC 2014 verdict they are not getting all facilities and why union finance minister who allocated budgets for different sections of the society and not included us. This event was organized to demand that April 15, a day of the SC verdict should be observed as ‘Transgender Day’.

    2014 Transgender verdict:

    • In this supreme court ordered that now after female and males, transgender will be recognized as the third gender.
    • Supreme court directed the Centre and States to take steps to treat them as socially and educationally backward classes.
    • Also said to extend reservation for admission in educational institutions and for public appointments.
    • But after this still, transgenders are facing problems and want some rights that they are not provided.

    What are their needs:

    • According to them, they are facing problem everywhere socially, medically legally even after SC verdict 2014.
    • In the event, they said that when a transgender wants to undergo a sex readjustment surgery or silicone, they don’t have such facilities or there are few hospitals for them.
    • According to Supreme Court transgenders will be provided with every facility like every weaker section of society then Why can’t the government allocate our houses under the “Indira Aawas Yojana” said a  transgender during the event.
    • There should be separate toilets for transgenders at public spaces because they are facing lots of problem because of this.
    • They also said that they face harassments at security checks because no male and female cops want to frisk us or check us.
    • According to them, only education is a weapon that can help them in Jobs and also able to get them their rights, so provide scholarships to us because we don’t have an income source.

    During the event, Kajal Mangalmukhi who was a first transgender student in the PU said that education is the best weapon that can help us to fight for our right. She said that any girl when she got socially abused everyone come forward for her rights and when we got molested, we only mocked upon. For every girl, there is “Beti Padhao Beti Bacho” then why there is no “Transgender Bacho Transgender Padhao Abhiyan if we are the third gender of the country.

    Ban on selling cut fruits in Mohali

    The Mohali administration concerned about  the health of the residents, so they has put a ban on selling over-ripened, cut fruits and vegetables in the city. Mohali Deputy Commissioner Gurpreet Kaur Sapra issued the ban orders under the Family Health and Welfare notification. If any vendor is selling uncovered sweets, cake, bread and selling other edible items any summer drinks improperly then strict action would be taken because it is banned till December. Sellers of ice cream, candies, soda have to get their water, being used for making these items, tested. Samples in this regard have to be tested and passed by the bacteriologist, Punjab.

    How he trapped:

    The cheating took place in the month of December 2016 and a FIR was lodged on Friday. The Victim came in contact with accused on facebook and he shared his contact number on facebook in October 2016. Fraudster introduced himself as Dr. Smith and said he is a scientist, working with Britannia Pharmaceutical Ltd in London. They asked him to procure herbal medicine from Maharashtra – based company and said that these medicines are used in curing cancer and HIV.

    How he suspected fraudsters:

    The victim said that Dr. Smith gave him the contact and address of a person named Rajesh Sharma and told that this person runs the herbal medicine company at Amravati in Maharastra and asked them to purchase the herbal medicines from him and send them to the London.

    The Rajesh Sharma who was one of the fraudsters asked him to send 5 lakes to the account to purchase medicines and victim did the same, but the victim did not get the samples. Later, Sharma again demanded Rs 5.07 lakh from Singh, and the victim again deposited the money in the account of Sharma.Then victim felt something fishy and then he called to UK Embassy to confirm and they said there is no information about Britannia Pharmaceutical Company. He also visited Amaravati and did not get any herbal medicine company on the given address.

    Police registered case:

    The cheating took place in the month of December 2016 and a FIR was lodged on Friday. Police said that this racket is operated from India only and case of fraud is registered in the Sector 17 police station. According to Inspector Harinder Singh Sekhon said Some of the gang members were arrested at Bikaner and they will be brought to Chandigarh shortly.

    Nowadays many people are getting trapped in such frauds because they want to earn more. Everyone should have to check everything before depositing a huge amount of money in others account.

    Who were involved in drug peddling:

    • Police have identified four accused named as Harkamal Kaur, Moneka from Nayagaon, Parveen Kumar, a resident of Chandigarh, and Taranjit Singh, a resident of Salamatpur village at Mullanpur.
    • Harkamal Kaur age is 21 and she is working in a five-star hotel in the city. Police found around with 10 gm of heroin when she was on her way to Mohali on her Activa scooter to supply the drug to her customer.
    • The police recovered 150 gm of heroin from Moneka and Parveen Kumar. Moneka was unemployed to earn money she chose drug peddling and she is 23 years old.
    • Taranjit Singh is a contractor and arrested near Hoshiarpur village on the Chandigarh-Kurali road. He was going to supply the drug to his clients at Kurali and carrying 100 gm of heroin.

    Case registered against accused:

    Police have registered the case of drug peddling against everyone in the nearby police stations where they caught red handed. The case against Harkamal Kaur is registered in the phase 1 police station and the case against Moneka and Parveen Kumar at the Nayagaon police station. Taranjit Singh who belongs to Mullanupur and his case has been booked there.

    Robin Sethi, Ankur Aggarwal, Jagmeet Singh, Parth Bakshi, Dheeraj Garg and Mani Sethi who were identified as accused and caught red handed because of involvement in betting of IPL matches. According to the sources accused belongs to Delhi and Dabhwali. Things that police recovered from these bookies like 14 mobile phones,1 voice recording machine, 1 laptop and Rs 14,500. According to the police sources, betting mainly occurs during the matches of Kings XI Punjab, Royal Challenger Bangalore (RCB) and also police said that their main operator has links to Jaipur. All accused were placing bets and over last week they had already placed bets over Rs 5 lakh.

    How police arrested them:

    Ankur Aggarwal is only a graduate from all the six accused and others are matriculates. This group of six is into match-fixing for over a year and they got in contact with the bookies from Delhi. According to the sources, Robin Sethi is the kingpin of the gang during IPL matches here. This time they have fixed a date to collect the amount of RS 1 lakh from their Jaipur associates.

    Police got the news from their sources and then the local police planned a raid at Bollywood apartment. At the time of the raid, all the accused were watching the matches and were trying to connect with other clients, customers, via different phones. This gang never use same locations to fix the matches and they always change their location. Last time they were operating from zirakpur but on that day they manage to escape from there before the arrival of police.

    • Fuel outlets in eight states will remain shut on every Sunday and this is going to start in the May 14.
    • The states where it is going to start are TN, Kerala, Karnataka, Puducherry, Andhra, Telangana, Maharashtra, and Haryana.
    • Every fuel outlets normally have about 15 people in their staff, but from now on every Sunday there would be only one member that will provide fuel in an emergency situation to the customer.
    • On Sunday no other vehicles will not get fuel available except for emergency services like an ambulance. The association is also considering eight-hour working days from May.
    • Around 20,000 outlets in Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Puducherry, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Maharashtra, and Haryana would be shut for 24 hours on Sundays.

    If the owner will not operate their petrol pumps on Sunday then they have to face the huge amount of loss but they are ready to face it because they are concerned with environment protection.
