Shatabdi Express From Chandigarh to Delhi from October On Sunday

Chandigarh Travellers were wishing that the Shatabadi Express should be run on every Sunday from Chandigarh to Delhi. This demand of travellers is going to be fulfilled in October this year. Yes, from October Satabadi Express will be operational from on Sundays also. This is great news for the travellers and they were demanding this and now their demand has been granted and from October they can travel on Sundays also.

Shatabadi Express 12046 Operational On Sundays:

Coming October travellers would be able to travel to Chandigarh to Delhi in Satabadi Express but it will be non-operational on Wednesday. Ambala division railway manager Dinesh Kumar confirmed that the new timetable would be introduced in the month October and also all the instructions would be implemented in this month only. Kumar also added that they will also add trains on the Chandigarh-Ludhiana stretch and to the Chandigarh-Dapper route. He said the electricity department has delayed the work and because of this, it will be delayed from the Month Of September.

According to the sources, rails would start functioning only after the Commission of Railway Safety gives a go-ahead after an inspection. The Ambala division has already submitted the project for cutting down travelling time of Shatabdi trains after the rail tracks are added. The speed of the trains would be increased from 110Km/hour to 130km/hour with the addition of track.
Shrikhand Trek: Chandigarh Youth Is Missing| No Clues

Abhishek Kharbanda of Chandigarh has gone missing when he went to Shrikhand trek. He was with his three friends on the trek. When he was coming back from 17,150 ft high Shrikhand Mahadev, he was tired so near Bhim Dwar he asked his friends to carry on and he will join them at the camp. But he did not come back. His friends were waiting for him and at last, they informed the officers that he is missing.

Till now there is no information about Abhishek Kharbanda as he was missing from July 4. According to the Police, they and local search teams are working together to search Abhishek. But till now no clue they have found about him. Nowadays weather conditions are not good and according to state government they are also helping in search of him with a helicopter but these weather conditions are not allowing the helicopter to operate properly. They also added that the government chopper, which had reached Mandi on Sunday, could not land in Kullu due to poor visibility.

The ground teams are searching for him since July 6. Deputy superintendent of police (DSP) Anni Baldev Thakur said the Abhishek went missing on July 4 and he said the search operation is on. He further added that there is a proper check post, yet people manage to evade checking and embark on the yatra without proper registration.
Chandigarh to Bangkok Flight Will Start From November

The Air India is ready to launch a direct flight from Chandigarh to Bangkok in the winter. Now travelers can travel from Chandigarh to Bangkok four days in a week. It is decided that this will be launched in November. It was first announced on September 15, 2016, about the Chandigarh to Bangkok flight by Air India chairman and managing director Ashwani Lohan. There was some delay in launch in this flight and earlier it was decided that flight will start from April by now it will be launched in November. This delay occurred because of the unavailability of the new aircraft.

Mohali Industries Association had filed a petition before the Punjab and Haryana high court against non-availability of facilities at the airport and delay in launching international flights from Chandigarh. The Air India counsel told the Punjab and Haryana high court on Tuesday about the delay in the international flight during the hearing of an ongoing petition.

During the hearing it is also informed to the court by the assistant solicitor general of India, Chetan Mittal that work for re-carpeting of the airport has been handover to a private company and they have started installing its plant to begin the work. He also added that meeting between stakeholders would be held in the first week of August. Issues that will be discussed in the meeting the acquisition of land for parallel taxi track, resurfacing of the runway, hub-spoke flight policy.

The Chandigarh’s Public Transport System going to get transformation soon and World Bank will help to get this transformation. They are providing funds to implement the intelligent public transportation system for Chandigarh Transport Undertaking (CTU) buses.

Under this plan, world bank will provide around 13 crores to the Chandigarh transportation system.

Within next 26 months, city’s public transport system will get the intelligent public transportation system. This transformation will help to make transportation system better. This world bank project had been given to SGS-Tekia, a consortium of the companies of Sweden and India. The transformation plan is being carried out under the World Bank sponsored modernisation plan of the Chandigarh Transport Undertaking (CTU). To take a further step, the CTU will soon sign a MoU with the consultant. There are some features that are included in the plan:
- Computerized bus depots having LAN connections will be linked to the central control station.
- GPS system will help primary control station to track of all the buses.
- Monitoring of the working of all buses is included in the plan.
- Information related to buses in real time and the arrival time will be displayed on the screen at bus stands.
- People will be able to get the every information through a mobile phone and also with the help of the app.
- The system will also support the SMS facility for drivers to inform about their leave.
This intelligent move help to transform public transportation of the city and world bank is funding for this plan and will provide funds of 13 crores. They will provide funds in installments in the next two years as per the requirements.
