#Events: Chandigarh Rose Festival to offer Free Foreign Honeymoon Trip to Newly Married Couple!!
Chandigarh Rose Festival, after the chopper ride news is here to surprise you more. Nagar Nigam is organising a newly married couple competition. The couple standing first will be awarded with free foreign honeymoon trip. This trip will be sponsored by the sponsors of the Rose Festival event.

Newly married couples completing one year by 17^th February will only be allowed to participate in the competition. The couples will have a walk on the ramp together showing their catwalk. For participating in Chandigarh Rose Festival competition the couples will have to pay some entry fees. The application forms for the competition will be available four days before the Chandigarh Rose Festival.

Rewards

The couple standing first will receive a three-day free foreign honeymoon trip at a hotel. Apart from this, the couples backing the second and third position shall be awarded with beautiful prizes. The prizes will be distributed on the last of the fest in the closing ceremony.

Food and Craft

A chopper will also be provided for those interested as quoted in my earlier article. The fest includes certain food and crafts stalls. Vendors occupying the stalls will be either from the Surajkund fest or from the Kalagram fest. Rose festival continues for three days from 17 February to 19 February.
Nagar Nigam is allowing the food and crafts stalls to be displayed as to promote the Indian culture or to show the diversity of our country. Famous food stalls will serve food from different parts of the country like South Indian food, Hyderabadi Biryani, Sarso ka Saag, Makki ki Roti and much more.

Chandigarh to host 15th International Puppet Festival!

“When I was a kid, I never saw a puppet show. But now that I have grown up, I wish I had.”

But is it ever too late? You can never be too grown up for anything. After all, age is just a number. To fulfil your wishes of seeing a puppet show, I have an exciting news to share. The 15th International Puppet Festival is coming to Chandigarh! Yes, you read that right!

Chandigarh will host the 15th edition of the International Puppet Festival at Tagore Theatre from 3rd to 6th February. The festival is organised by Ishara Puppet Theatre Trust annually at different parts of the country. Artists in the field of puppetry come from all corners of the world to perform here. And the best part? The tickets to the festival are absolutely free!

International Puppet Festival

On the first day of the event, the show ‘The Theft of Sita’ will be performed by Sanggar Paripurna Puppet Theatre. The group is from Indonesia and performs regularly at various international festivals. The act will be a modern spin to the epic mythological drama ‘Ramayana’ through a puppet show.

The second day will see the famous Fairouz Just as Puppet Theatre from Palestine on the stage. They will be performing ‘Home, Sweet Home’ which is based on 2 traditional Palestinian folk tales. This show has also been a hit at their various performances worldwide as it is filled with fun, adventure and fantasy of many mischievous puppets.

Further, the third day’s performance will have an Indian theatre group on stage. The Kuch Kuch Puppet Theatre will perform ‘Hamara Circus’ at Tagore Theatre exclusively. This act will see lots of interesting things and objects coming to life.

The fourth and the final day of the event will perhaps have the most beautiful show of all. ‘The Lantern Festival’ will be performed by Chin Fei Feng Marionette Theatre Troupe from Taiwan. This act will showcase the New year celebration of Taiwanese and Chinese through puppets.

#Event: Pride Fashion show for Impaired People on 23rd January
A Pride Fashion show is being held for people with physical and mental disabilities. This is a moment for people with disabilities to prove themselves and move forward to achieve more things in life. The Pride Fashion show will be held on 23^rd January 2017 organized by Social and Welfare Women and Child Development.

Approximately 150 people have applied to participate in this fashion show. The participants are practicing for at least 2 hours a day. Some normal students will be monitoring these people while on stage for any sort of help.

The participants are instructed skilfully on the direction of a walk, face expression, representation on stage. Forest and Wildlife UT Department Chandigarh is back with a bang this year again. Like every year this year also the Forest Department will be having cycling events in Chandigarh. The Forest Department has launched the dates of cycling events to be organized every month. Cycling event will be held on one weekend of every month. In monsoons, there will be no Cycling events as the forest area track gets damp and soggy during those days and there are chances of cycles to slip. So in June, July, August, and September, the cycling events will not be occurring.
