    गुरमीत कहते हैं, की उनके बेटे को प्रैक्टिस करने के लिए बर्फ नहीं मिलती थी। इसलिए वो कच्ची सड़क पर अभ्यास करता था। उसे यहाँ तक पहुँचने के लिए काफी मेहनत करनी पड़ी। थोड़े अभ्यास के बाद उसने सतलुज से निकलने वाली रेत पर अभ्यास किया। उसके बाद वो नेशनल इवेंट के लिए श्री नगर गए और वहां गोल्ड मेडल जीता। यही से उनकी ओल्यम्पिकस में एंट्री का रास्ता बना और उन्होंने अपनी सिलेक्शन होने के बाद, हमे गोल्ड मेडल जिताया।

    मेडल तो मेडल हैं, चाहे वो नार्मल एथलीट दिलाये या कोई “स्पेशल एथलीट”। फिर स्पेशल एथलीट्स के साथ भेदभाव क्यों किया जा रहा है। एक तरफ कहते है, की सबको एक जैसा मौका मिलना चाहिए और दूसरी तरफ इंटरनेशनल लेवल पर पदक दिलाने वाले स्पेशल एथलीट्स का न अच्छा वेलकम किया जाता है न उनको नॉर्मल एथलीट्स के मुकाबले इनाम मिलते हैं। स्पेशल चाइल्ड्स को मोटीवेट कर के आगे लाने के लिए कुछ कदम सरकार को उठाने चाहिए, ताकि उनको आगे बढ़ने का प्रोत्साहन मिले।

    Panjab University to start MDS Courses in Chandigarh at South Campus

    The Harvansh Singh Judge Institute of Dental Sciences at South Campus of Panjab University to start MDS Courses in Chandigarh. The Union Ministry of Health and welfare has given the permission to start six specialty courses at the Dental Institute of Panjab University.

    The six specialties approved are Periodontology, Orthodontics, Dentofacial Orthopedics, Oral and Maxillofacial surgery, prosthodontics and crown bridges, conservative dentistry and endodontics, and oral pathology and microbiology.

    Each specialty will have three seats each except oral and maxillofacial surgery which will have two seats in all the institute will carry out admission for 17 seats. The institute has collaborated with Government Medical College Hospital Sector 32 Chandigarh for training in advance surgical purposes.

    Presently the Institute only offers Bachelor in Dental surgery BDS which is five-year course. The fee structure for the Master’s course is approximately 4.5 lakh which amounts to be 68 lakh for 17 seats per annum. Panjab University shall generate a revenue of 2 crores after the admissions.

    The admissions are to be held in April and the admission form will be available on official website. Starting MDS courses in Chandigarh will be a boon for BDS doctors.  All the BDS doctors will get more opportunity to develop and become specialized doctors.
