#Foodie: Visit Super Donuts Sector 35 to take your taste buds on a tour

Located in the food haven of Chandigarh, Super Donuts Sector 35 is a treat. The place is tastefully decorated. It looks very lively and cheerful. As soon as you enter the place, there is a burst of colors that lights you up from the inside.

There is cheerful music playing and an array of donuts at the display. How can you not fall in love with the place at first sight? And there is also free WiFi!!

Enough about the place, let’s talk about food.

What we ordered at Super Donuts Sector 35:

First, we ordered salsa nachos and pizza style fries. Since they are one of the few shareable in the menu. I found them to be good for a light snack but I am not so sure I would try them again. They were a bit messy for my liking. I also had their famous Gladiator shake. If there is one word to describe it, it would be- heavenly. The shake is bursting with flavor and does not disappoint you. It had hazelnut, berries, and chunks of cookies. Almost like a party going on in your mouth. I also took a donut home- the rocky road chocolate donut. It is easily one of the best donuts in Chandigarh. The donut was extremely fresh topped with not overly sweet chocolate. It was certainly a treat!

Verdict:

Super Donut is certainly a nice refreshing change from the usual. Most of the dishes are good. However, if you are going with a large group of friends, there isn’t much to share. So you end up having ordered multiple same food items. Still, the place is worth giving a try, especially because of their freak shakes and donuts. Further, it is a plus that all their food items are inclusive of taxes. This is not something that a lot of places do. So what you see is what you get.

This is another outlet in Sector 8 with Original milkshakes. The milkshakes are served in glass jars specially decorated for that particular flavour. Milkshakes are not the only thing you should drive to this place they serve bagels as well. They specially have hot shakes as well, must try ones are Hillman with a tinge of caramel and rock salt.

Gupta juice corner

Gupta corner is a shop in Sector 8 Madhya Marg market. It gets most of its crowd from the nearby offices and gyms situated there in that market. Gupta also serves protein shakes for those who are diet conscious. The shakes of this place are prepared with fresh fruit topping.

Tossin Pizza

Tossin Pizza is located in Sector 35 the major food court lane. This place is known for its pizza’s but it also serves appetizing shakes. Red velvet shake is totally new flavour in a shake which is seriously amazing. Do try there shakes when you visit.

#Foodie – Smokin’ Joe’s Pizza Chandigarh Review

Recently I had the opportunity to visit a new pizza haunt in the city- Smokin’ Joe’s Pizza Chandigarh. I am a huge fan of pizza and had been planning to try out this place for quite some time.

So without any delay, let me get down to what I thought of the pizzas served at Smokin’ Joe’s and the place itself.

Where:

Bay Shop 304, Sector- 32 D, Chandigarh.

Ambience:

Since it is a bay shop, the seating is limited to a maximum of around 15 people. At first glance, it looks like any other eatery you would see in the tricity. But on a closer look, you will realise that the interiors of the place- the pictures, wallpapers etc are decorated thoughtfully. What really catches your eye is the Legend of Smokin’ Joe’s. A Mexican cowboy who fell in love with an immigrant from Sicily by way of pizza. They were separated by the Great Floods in America and to deal with the loss, Joe started making pizzas himself. Soon his pizzas became famous with a certain group of cowboys called the Smokin’ cowboys and hence he was given the name of Smokin’ Joe. The service is quick and polite.

What I Ordered:

I ordered two pizzas- Vegetarania and Crisp ‘n’ Lite. Since I had no plans of dining, I had the two pizzas packed for take away. My order took not more than 10 minutes to be ready, which is something incredible since the place was bustling with customers. Before ordering, the owner Mr. Rajesh Sharma was kind enough to tell me that Crisp ‘n’ Lite will have very finely chopped toppings and some people tend not to like it. I told him it was fine by me and the order was placed.

Key takeaways:

The pizzas were such a delight to eat! If you are a pizza buff, you will know that the pizzas at Domino’s and Pizza Hut, do not really qualify as pizzas. They are covered with extra dust of flour, the bases are too hard and toppings too less. But the pizzas here were such a pleasant surprise! The pizza bases soft, topped with a generous amount of toppings and they looked really appetizing. The cheese is fresh and as you bite into it, you can actually feel it melting in your mouth. Remember, it was a take away, yet the pizzas tasted really fresh and light even after having them at home.

My verdict:

If you are a fan of pizza, Smokin’ Joe’s Pizza Chandigarh should definitely be on your list of places to try! It is so much better than eating the pizzas at other fast food chains that are simply defrosted and heated.
