Direct Flights From Chandigarh to Jammu and Jaipur

Indigo Airlines to launch direct flights from Chandigarh to Jammu and Jaipur in less than 10 days from now. The flights shall commence from Chandigarh International Airport by 26^th March 2017.

Jet Airways are also starting a flight from Chandigarh to Jaipur by 26^th March 2017. These new flights shall improve the handicrafts business handling between Jaipur and Chandigarh and is also merit for people who love to explore.

Reason for Closing the Chandigarh International Airport

Prior to this also the Airport Authorities used to shut on first and third Sundays of every month after 1 pm for any take offs or landings in order to improvise the Airport and Airport Facilities. Now, the authorities have decided to close it for 3 days for better functioning of the Airport.

• Chandigarh International Airport will remain closed on 19th March, 2nd April and 16th April 2017.

• Instrument Landing System (ILS) will be utilised on the runway to ensure the smooth take-off and landing on the Airport.
• It shall also decrease the probability of delaying of the flight in Chandigarh Airport during foggy days.

The Airport Authorities are gearing towards upgrading CATII to CATIII instrument landing system at Chandigarh International Airport. After the successful up gradation, some new International may also be launched connecting City beautiful to other countries. The new system will prevent the delay in flights in bad weather conditions.

• Monday onwards the Jet Airways flight from Chandigarh to New Delhi will depart at 9:40 pm. Earlier this flight was operated at 4:10 pm in the evening.

• Hyderabad to Chandigarh will depart at 11:00 am and arrive at Chandigarh by 1:45 pm.

Presently there are no direct flights operating from the city to Hyderabad and Chennai so this is a boon for the people who love travelling.

EXPENSES

A one-way trip between Hyderabad and Chennai will cost Rs. 2999. The fare from Chennai to Chandigarh will be Rs 4,152 while from Chandigarh, it will cost Rs 4,059. The Prices are subject to change according to the seat availability with a course of time.

With this, as many as 32 new domestic flights will start from the city, beginning February 20.

CONNECTING TRICITY TO MUMBAI AND PUNE

Chandigarh is getting connected to different parts of the country this is going to help the corporate as well as the public making travelling easier. Air India announced flight to Mumbai and First Chandigarh to Pune flight from January 16. The total number of flights running from Chandigarh International Airport goes upto 23. The flights will operate five days a week.

Presently there are no flights operating from Chandigarh to Pune, so, this is a boon for the people who love travelling as they’ll be getting direct flights. For Mumbai this is the 6^th flight operating from Chandigarh.

FURTHER PLANS

Further plans are also being made for connecting the city worldwide. Jet Airways is planning to start a daily flight from Chandigarh to Abu Dhabi this year. Soon the city will be connected to Goa and Chennai as well. Northern Railways have also proposed one more Shatabdi on Sundays from Chandigarh to Delhi. Presently there are two Shatabdi’s running but there is huge rush on Sundays. Soon, more trains will be operating said the Divisional Railway Manager, Dinesh Kumar.
