Every dog has its day, they say. But dogs and their owners in Panchkula are going to have every day a special day. Haryana government has come up with a wonderful decision of opening up a dedicated dog park in Panchkula which will immensely benefit people and their pet dogs.
Haryana’s first and the country’s second dog park has been set up at the Mansa Devi Complex in Sector 4 here at a cost of Rs 45 lakh. Pet parks are common in foreign countries, but in India, we only had one such in Hyderabad and now this will be the second dog park in Panchkula, Haryana.
1st Dog Park in Panchkula, Haryana – A Good News for Dog Lovers

The Haryana’s government is opening what is touted as “Second Dog Park” in the country dedicated especially to dogs and their owners.
Dog Park in Panchkula – Facilities & Other Details
The park, spread over one acre adjoining the water works in the MDC area, is equipped with various facilities.
- Walking track
- Training platform with training equipment – Bridge climb, jump hurdles, mini hill climb
- Exercising equipment – balance beam, bridge climb, jumping ring and jumping platform
- Two lawns and two fountains
- A dog statue

The Park is Divided into 2 Parts
- One for puppies and
- The other for large-size dogs.
Timings to Visit
The dog owners would be allowed to take their pets to the park from 5 am to 9 am and 5 pm to 9 pm.

Safety Tips and Rules to Observe
- Firstly, the dogs should be properly vaccinated and the owners would have to produce the card before taking the pets inside the park.
- Secondly, dog owners would have to carry bags to remove dog’s poop to maintain cleanliness at the park.
- Only registered dogs will be allowed to enter the park.

Only 213 pet dogs in Panchkula city were registered with the Municipal Corporation. The civic body has assigned duties to four employees to visit the park and public places in the city and get pet dogs registered. Panchkula Mayor Kulbhushan Goyal said the dog registration fee was fixed at Rs 500. The owners of unregistered pets have to pay Rs 500 as fine. He said the fine amount would be increased to Rs 2,000 in the next MC House meeting.
