Everything About Electric and Hybrid Vehicles

Electric vehicles (EVs) have an electric motor in place of an internal combustion engine and a battery in place of a petrol tank. Plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs), which combine petrol and electricity, have an internal combustion engine, a battery, an electric motor, and a petrol tank.

Fuel sources for PHEVs include both petrol and electricity.

What are Emissions?

EVs have no emissions from the exhaust. The total emissions involved with operating an electric vehicle are often lower than those for driving a petrol vehicle, even though charging the battery may increase pollution at the power plant. This is especially true if the electricity is produced using renewable energy sources, like wind.

When using petrol as the fuel source, PHEVs emit exhaust emissions.

A typical 120 V outlet may be used to charge the majority of EVs. You could wish to install a special 240 V outlet or charging device to charge the car faster.

You might also be able to use one of the many public charging stations that are becoming available, or at your place of employment.

Electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles are currently available in a variety of vehicle classifications. Over 50 EV and PHEV models are now on the market, with additional models projected to be produced in the future years.

In conclusion, the decision to exempt No Road Tax for Electric and Hybrid Vehicles in Chandigarh is a commendable step toward promoting clean and sustainable transportation. By eliminating road tax for these vehicles, the government is encouraging their adoption, which in turn contributes to reducing air pollution and carbon emissions in the city.
