Everything to Know About International Women’s Day
Every year, on the 8th of march International women’s day is celebrated globally.
Many of us don’t know the reason behind the day. Let’s dig into it’s history to know more about it.
International Women’s day was first celebrated in US as National Women’s day in February 1909. At International conference women’s activist Clara ZetKin called for an International Women’s day to celebrate women’s rights and to act as a voice for women’s needs. In year 1911, for the first time International women’s day was celebrated.

The women behind the famous food court “Maa ka pyar”. We all our staying away from our homes and of course we definitely miss that ghar ka khana. Radhika Arora opened food outlet that will serve our mom’s food craving just a click away. She was working as an HR intern and left her job to pursue her dream as an entrepreneur. Moreover, she has been listed as the top 10 women entrepreneurs in Chandigarh.

She is a Chandigarh-based women entrepreneur. She is the woman behind setting up a successful business named Advenio TecnoSys private limited. She developed software that can diagnose early signs of any disease and could help medical practitioners. She holds a degree in Phd computer science.
- Komal Sharma Talwar
Many of us don’t know that Komal Sharma Tanwar has been named “Women entrepreneur of the year”. She is the lady behind two firms named TT consultants and XLPATS. Her business compromises to analyze patent applications and make work easier for researchers. She also has worked as a member of the Indian Government Delegation to the World Economic Forum.

Devina Soni followed her passion for becoming a chef. D-Licious founded in the year 2012, is the outlet she opened after pursuing her MBA degree from Punjab University. Her business deals with baking items such as cakes, cupcakes, cookies, and that too gluten-free is keeping diet-conscious people awake.
- Gayatri Sood
When it comes to cakes, the first thing that pops in our mind is Monica’s pudding and pies. We all have tasted amazing and super delicious cakes from this bakery. However, do we actually know the person behind this? Well, we will help you with that! Gayatri sood, is the name behind this who, at the age of 10 started following her passion. She has done her diploma from Le Cordon Belu in 2012 in London. Her mouth-watering recipes are very much famous around Chandigarh and Tricity.

Touching her 50’s, Sunita Joshi founded Logismith in 2016. She faced many hardships in life when she parted ways from her husband. To cope up with those hurdles in life she started this firm. Basically, Logismith deals with Amazon India and Bluedart as delivery partners. Doing everything single-handedly makes her truly an inspirational woman.
- Pahull Bains
The culinary world is well represented by Pahull Bains, whose family has been in business for generations. They used their artistic abilities to create Brooklyn Central with her mother, Annu Bains, the first institution of its kind in Chandigarh. It has dominated the restaurant scene with its sophisticated menu and mouthwatering cuisine since it was opened in the magnificent Elante Mall. The upcoming brand has already captured the niche market. Sit down at a table and savour the meal.
- Atman Sandhu
Atman Sandhu, a 26 years old, had always wanted to open her own business. In her childhood, she watched her mother organizing their house, which gave the entrepreneur a talent for interior design. It takes courage to start a firm, especially since when many companies are fighting to survive the COVID-19 pandemic. Yet, confinement at home, enough leisure, and the entrepreneurial bug drove Atman to launch Shibui India, a green firm that designs and manufactures handmade.
- Neha Singh
The “Wednesday ladies’ night” term was made famous by this lady named as Neha Singh. She started her new cafe “Girl in the Cafe” which is a perfect place for all the girls to spend quality time with their girl gang. The ambiance and the food, both are equally amazing and the women behind has inspired many young minds to work on their dreams.
Conclusion
While significant progress has been made in recent decades toward achieving gender equality, there is still a long way to go. Women continue to face barriers in education, employment, political participation and are disproportionately affected by poverty, violence, and discrimination. By working together and supporting one another, we can create a world where all women and girls can live free from fear, discrimination, and violence, and have the opportunity to realize their full potential.
