The steep fee hike sparked the students protest in PU. There was hike of 12.5% in the fees for next session and according to the students it is a massive hike. Students coming from weaker sections cannot afford this. This caused tensed situation among the students and they started protesting and demanding immediate rollback of the fee hike. Vice chancellor Arun Kumar Grover announced part time jobs to calm the students during the students protest in PU.
Opportunities students can get while studying
- Officials said that creation of part time jobs will help students to manage their expenses and can also be able to pay their fee. How many students need these jobs, according to this they will try to create jobs in the University.
- Students can get the jobs like software services, data entry operators and jobs related to security of the campus can help them to earn money while studying. Instead of employing technical assistants, postgraduate students of the university can do these jobs on part time basis.
- Part time job seekers can also get the opportunities of working in libraries. There are many students who want 24 hours library facility and this can generate the jobs in library too.
- Students will get the facility of loans from banks on soft interest and this will help students to pay their fees for all professional courses.
Vice chancellor said about the students protest in PU that he cannot take the decision to roll back the fee hike because he don’t have the authority for such decisions and only senate can change the decision.
