Chandigarh: Hotel Employee Nabbed For ‘Raping’ Guest From MP

A case of raping guest by the employee of Five-star Taj hotel in Sector 17, Chandigarh came into limelight. The girl also blamed the accused of stealing her Rs. 23000. The accused is from Himachal Pradesh and his name is Sunny Kumar, who is working with the hotel from the past five years in the food and beverages section the Police claim.

How this incident happened:

The 24-year-old victim, hailing from Madhya Pradesh and presently she is working with a reputed Information Technology company in Jaipur. She came to Chandigarh for her official trip and stayed in the Taj Hotel. According to the victim, she came in contact with Sunny during the stay in Hotel. She came here on Monday and made friendship with him. She told police that to celebrate his birthday she went to his house in sector 22. She alleged that the accused raped her at his house and later she found that even Rs 23,000 she was carrying was missing from her room.

The victim called the police Tuesday morning alleging that she had been raped. The police went to the hotel and the accused was arrested from there.

Complaint of the victim has registered:

On a complaint from the victim, Police has registered a case under Sections 376 (rape) 380 (theft) at the Sector 17 police station against the accused Sunny Kumar said Ram Gopal DSP (central), Chandigarh. Now after Medical check up of victim further action would be taken.

The victim did not give her consent for medical check up:

The victim who is Madhyapradesh told police that to celebrate accused person’s birthday she went to his house and at 12:30 AM they left from Hotel after his shift got over. When she returned to the room after the alleged rape, she found her room ransacked and the cash was also missing from the room. According to the police, they sent the victim to the medical examination but she was not ready for the medical examination.
